Welcome to the Rotary Club of Maffra Mardi Gras, 16th March 2019
Beginning in 1957, this community fundraiser is the Wellington Shire's oldest event celebrating it's 60th event in 2017.
Nominations must be received in writing to the Secretary by 31st October, 2018.
The winner, announced on the Saturday evening, is the group which has raised the most money over the 6 weeks.
Rules governing the various fundraising activities do apply. Entrants are supported by a fundraising committee from their own organisation.
The Rotary Club of Maffra Mardi Gras will culminate with a street parade in Johnson Street followed by the announcement of the winner.
Street entertainment runs from 4 pm to 9 pm and will include, music, market and food stalls, carnival rides, face painting and an animal nursery before the street parade commences at 6pm.
The Rotary Club of Mardi Gras is a proven family-friendly event, with opportunities for many community organisations to raise some much needed funds at the beginning of the calendar year.
Organisations may also raise funds by operating one of the many activity and food stalls on the evening. Entrants in the Parade compete for financial prizes, a number of which are available for different categories.
The theme for 2019 is Farming and Communities, you may interpret that any way you like.
For more information regarding entrant nominations, parade entries and stall holders please contact the President Graeme Hemming on 0419533680 or
